Spring and Summer Gnomes

Spring Gnomes and Summer Gnomes are 500-piece puzzles from Bits and Pieces. They are part of a set of 4 puzzles I got a while ago. Last year I did the fall and winter puzzles, and I was recently inspired to finish these ones off.

These two were definitely more fun than the other ones. The fall one was tricky, but the winter one was diabolically hard between the random cut pieces and the many shades of white and gray. The summer puzzle was the easiest of the four because it has more colorful elements that are spread out more throughout the design.

While these are very cute puzzles, I don’t think I would want to do them again, so the set is going in the stack for the next puzzle swap I am able to attend.

Spring Tea Party

Spring Tea Party is a 500-piece puzzle from Galison, and the artist is Victoria Ball. It is such a sweet image, and it was very easy to put together. The colors are a bit muted compared to what I normally prefer, but I still enjoyed it a lot.

Here are some closeups of the bunnies:

Park Avenue

Park Avenue is a 500-piece puzzle from Puzzle Crush, and the artist is Joy LaForme. Interestingly enough, the first puzzle that I did back in 2021 was from Puzzle Crush. I had some definite quality issues with that one, but I am glad to say that the quality of this puzzle was much better and I had no problems with it.

I found this image to be so pretty that I bought it fairly quickly after seeing it. I knew the pink foliage would be tricky to put together, but I figured it couldn’t be too bad since it was only 500 pieces. And I was right – the bottom and middle parts went together easily, and once I shape sorted, the top part wasn’t too bad.

I would consider more from this brand and from this artist, who I know has a lot of puzzles out there.

Hitting the Road

Hitting the Road is a 1000-piece puzzle from Cobble Hill, and the artist is Mary Lake-Thompson. This was my first puzzle from the Cobble Hill brand. I love the subject matter as it is a combination of a collage with images of campers and other vehicles. It is a fun design with a lot of interesting elements.

Their puzzles are random cut, but it is not as hard as the previous random cut puzzle I did from Goodway Puzzles. None of these pieces were tiny or super weird in shape, so it made for a good puzzling experience. I will definitely be doing this brand again!

When I was finished, I asked Michael what his favorite scene was. He said Into the Woods because of the bear and the fox. My favorite is either Fall Fun or Holidays.

Board Games & Early Spring

This month our library had a book sale that included some puzzles, so I headed over to see what I could find. There were probably about 40-50 puzzles available, and I found 2 that I liked. They were only $2 each, which was great!

I have done one of them so far – Board Games from Springbok. It was 500 pieces. It was so fun to put together; I really enjoyed doing it! I have fond memories of most of the games pictured in the image.

A couple of days later, I did another puzzle that I had found at the local puzzle box. It was called Early Spring, and it was a 500-piece puzzle from the Americana Collection at Mega Puzzles. The artist’s name was Steve Klein.

This was a nice little puzzle to do. The colors were very bright and the image is pleasant. I had to search a bit for some of the pieces, but it wasn’t super hard.
