Hue Wormhole

Hue Wormhole is a beautiful puzzle by Wenjia Wang.  This is a 1000-piece, circular puzzle from Antelope Puzzles, and it was a lot of fun to put together. I have never done a circular puzzle this big and it actually ended up being too big for the puzzle board I was doing it on.  I had to carefully transfer it to foam board to get photos of it.

The colors in this puzzle are gorgeous, and the quality is impressive! The pieces were a nice thickness and fit together well. I started with the border and then worked my way from the outer green and blue up to the purple edge. The greens and orange went pretty well, but then I got a big bogged down in the reds. I kept working it and eventually got to the purples, which were a lot easier.

All in all, this was a joy to assemble and I highly recommend it!

Happy Camper Multipack

Ceaco has a series of puzzles called Happy Camper, and I picked up this 5-in-1 multipack featuring some of those images. I started doing Happy Camper puzzles after I finished all of the Food Trucks that are currently out. Most of them are only 300 pieces, which makes for a short puzzling experience, but they are really cute, so I like them. I thought this pack would be a good way to get a bunch of them for a lower price.

I was not impressed with this pack of puzzles at all. Some of the images are cut off versions of the original puzzles, and the quality was terrible. The image was coming off the cardboard in a lot of places. A lot of the pieces were damaged and a couple had even lost the knobs entirely. The puzzles are cute, but I would recommend getting the individual ones instead of the multipack. Those are usually a bit better quality.

One thing I did enjoy was that for the last two puzzles I did (the vertical 300-pieces ones), I solved them without looking at the image while I was puzzling. It gave me a different experience to what I normally do, and I enjoyed it. It was fun figuring out where sections went as the puzzle came together. I don’t know if I would like to do this all the time; I think it could be quite frustrating on a larger, more detailed puzzle.

Here are the completed puzzles from the set:

Beach Camper, 750 pieces
Downeast Camper, 500 pieces
Canyon Camper, 500 pieces
Lake Camper, 300 pieces
Waterfall Camper, 300 pieces

Flowers

Flowers is a 500-piece round puzzle from Ravensburger’s Circle of Colors line. The artist is Sherry Lee. It was a super-easy and satisfying puzzle to do. I have been a big fan of rainbow puzzles since I started this hobby, and this one was so pretty!

Circle of Colors: Ocean

After getting my last puzzle framed and off the dining room table, I decided to do an easier puzzle. I had a few 500-piece puzzles on my to-do shelf, so I picked one of those.

The puzzle I chose was Ocean from the Ravensburger Circle of Colors line. As you might guess from the title, it is a round puzzle. The artist is Asia Orlando.

This was a very fun, relaxing puzzle. It features an array of ocean creatures arranged in rainbow order. I sorted the pieces by color, then started with the edge. After that, I just went color by color around the puzzle. It went quickly; I never got stuck or frustrated.

Here’s a picture of the finished puzzle:

I highly recommend this puzzle!

It’s a Tie

My third puzzle was It’s a Tie by Springbok. It was 500 pieces like the first two, but the shape of it was round. I started it on a Friday night when my friend Renee was visiting. She enjoys puzzles, so we decided to open this one up and give it a try.

I did sort out the edge pieces first, but they were mostly black so we ended up starting by putting some of the ties together. Once we had several mostly together, we used the picture on the box to put them where they should be. We worked on it for a couple of hours and then decided to take a break from it.

I returned to the puzzle on Saturday morning and was able to finish it within another couple of hours. It wasn’t very difficult to do the border once the center part was together. Here’s a picture of the finished puzzle:

This puzzle was a lot of fun to do. I enjoyed the subject matter of neckties and it was fun seeing all of the different patterns and how they came together.

Puzzling is turning out to be a good hobby for me. I ordered another puzzle on Amazon but it was going to take a few days to arrive, so Joe & I went to the mall so I could get a new one right away. It’s 1000 pieces, so it should be a bit more of a challenge!
