Thoughts of an introverted bookworm and avid jigsaw puzzler
World Landmarks Map is a 300-piece puzzle from Ravensburger. It was designed for age 9+ with what they call XXL pieces. I got it because there is a new puzzle challenge on one of the Facebook groups I belong to that needed a puzzle with a map or globe. This one definitely fit that bill!
Even though it was designed for a younger audience, I still found it enjoyable and just a bit challenging in spots. The quality was excellent, as usual with this brand.
Floral Reflections is a beautiful 500-piece puzzle from Ravensburger that I have had my eye on for quite a while. My friend Jessyca came over on Memorial Day to hang out and after lunch we decided to do this puzzle together.
We sorted by color but didn’t pull the edges out and then started working at different ends of the puzzle. It worked out well because there are six sections so we could each do three of them. I finished a little bit ahead of her, so I helped with her last section.
This is such a gorgeous image, and it was very enjoyable to put together. The Ravensburger quality is always good, and it was especially nice to be working on it with another person.
After we finished the puzzle, we talked for a while and then decided to watch a movie. We settled on Falling for Figaro, partly because she had seen and liked the main actress in another movie (Patti Cake$). We both enjoyed the movie, and I plan to watch the other movie whenever I start up my Apple TV subscription again (that will be once Foundation and Silo have new seasons available)!
While she was there, I got a delivery of another puzzle I had ordered off Amazon. It came in a brown paper envelope, and the puzzle box was so mangled that it had torn open on one corner. There were even loose pieces in the packaging! I immediately contacted Amazon to initiate a return!
I had such a nice, relaxing day with my friend. I am so glad that I have been able to meet some people at my new church that I really click with!
Flowers is a 500-piece round puzzle from Ravensburger’s Circle of Colors line. The artist is Sherry Lee. It was a super-easy and satisfying puzzle to do. I have been a big fan of rainbow puzzles since I started this hobby, and this one was so pretty!
Winnie the Pooh is a 1000-piece Ravensburger Disney puzzle that I got at a local bookstore to use for the Winter Bingo I am participating in. It fit the squares of Birthday or Balloons (it had both!) and Disney or Cartoon (with bonus entry for using Pooh or Tinkerbell).
It was a really fun puzzle to put together. The quality was great all around, although of course there was a lot of puzzle dust and no reference poster. But the difficulty level was just right and I didn’t get stuck at any point.
Such a cute image! I loved the amount of detail in the puzzle. There was a lot going on, but it wasn’t chaotic at all. Highly recommend!
I recently found a Facebook group for a puzzle box in my area. It is located on the side of the person’s home, and people can drop off puzzles they don’t want anymore and take puzzles that other people have dropped off. I visited it for the first time last weekend and brought home three puzzles to do.
The next day I chose the one I was the most excited about and put it together. It was a 500-piece puzzle from Ravensburger called Needlework Station. It was a large format puzzle, so the pieces were bigger than on a normal puzzle, which I kind of liked. The artist is Lars Stewart.
This puzzle was a real joy to do. The sorting was easy and the pieces were great quality. They fit together well and it was easy to move sections around. The colors and textures in the image were colorful and interesting.
Now I have to decide whether to take it back and exchange it for another puzzle or keep it around for a while to do again later!
After getting my last puzzle framed and off the dining room table, I decided to do an easier puzzle. I had a few 500-piece puzzles on my to-do shelf, so I picked one of those.
The puzzle I chose was Ocean from the Ravensburger Circle of Colors line. As you might guess from the title, it is a round puzzle. The artist is Asia Orlando.
This was a very fun, relaxing puzzle. It features an array of ocean creatures arranged in rainbow order. I sorted the pieces by color, then started with the edge. After that, I just went color by color around the puzzle. It went quickly; I never got stuck or frustrated.
